Consultation | $150-200
Ready to transform your landscape into a native haven? We begin with a deep dive into your property’s potential. I’ll assess your site’s unique puzzle—light, moisture, and soil—while identifying existing plants and addressing invasive species. Following our visit, you’ll receive a high-level roadmap and a project proposal to turn your garden dreams into a functional habitat.
Design | Price varies by project size
I dive into research to curate the perfect palette for your space, crafting mood boards and sketches to spark your imagination. You will receive a professional, to-scale planting scheme and a comprehensive plant spreadsheet designed for easy installation. I also provide a seasonal care guide, ensuring you have the blueprint to bring your living work of art to life.
Garden Coaching | $50/ hour
Professional backup for the DIY gardener. Whether you want to learn the art of pruning or need help distinguishing a prized native from an opportunistic weed, I provide the hands-on guidance you need. I’ll equip you with the techniques and confidence to steward your garden as it matures.
Installation & Maintenance Oversight
I maintain a network of trusted local partners who specialize in native plant installation and ecological maintenance. I can connect you with the right team for the job and remain available to oversee the process, ensuring every plant is placed with intent and your planting design is installed as designed.
Meet the Designer
Lindsay Hoyt
Originally from Upstate New York, I moved to Kansas City to begin a 15-year career as a graphic designer for Hallmark Cards. That decade and a half was built on solving complex visual problems with precision, intent, and a high standard for beauty. Eventually, my creative focus shifted from the studio to the soil. I traded glitter and bows for a living medium—Missouri native plants—driven by their inherent beauty and their unmatched ability to restore function to the local landscape.
At Bonny in Time, I approach Kansas City landscape design as both an artist and an environmental steward. I specialize in identifying site-specific solutions for tricky urban clay, stormwater management, and habitat restoration. My transition to the garden is backed by rigorous training: I am a professionally certified Grow Native! specialist, a Missouri Master Naturalist, and an active member of the Climate Council.
I view every yard as a unique puzzle. Whether I am painting with textures or engineering a rain garden, my goal is to create a sophisticated, living sanctuary that supports pollinators and restores the natural spirit of the Midwest prairie.
